Microalgae has the potential to be a cell factory in the production of recombinant proteins, oils, pigments, etc., and plays an important role in solving the problems of traditional biomass production and future market. Genetic engineering promotes the improvement of microalgae and the industrialization of microalgae. In this paper, the research progress of microalgae genetic engineering and the application of genetic engineering in microalgae production of biofuels and medicines are reviewed. |
