Research Advances in Allelopathy of Marine Microalgaes

Abstract:

Allelopathy of the marine microalgae has been a subject of a variety of studies. This paper reviews the advances in this field. The history and status quo in allelopathy studies of marine microalgae are introduced and the common methods in studies are summarized. The chemical nature of the allelochemicals,the importance of allelopathy in the dynamic and succession of algae communitied and the mechanism of the interaction among microalgaes are also discussed.
