| 胡鸿钧，男，60岁，中国科学院武汉植物研究所所长，研究员。干1965年毕业于中国科学院水生生物研究所，研究生。于1980-1982年为美国加州大学伯克利分校访问学者。兼任中国海洋湖沼学会常务理事，湖北省海洋湖沼学会副理事长，湖北省出国留学回国人员联谊会副理事长，《海洋与湖沼》学报编委。主要从事淡水藻类学研究。30余年来以他为主或与同事合作发现淡水绿藻3个新属，20多个新种。1980年与同事合作首次发现一种裸甲藻光合色素系统中含有藻蓝素(Pbycyanin)，为研究甲藻的系统演化提供新的线索。 80年代中期以来，主要从事螺旋藻生物技术研究，1989年完成国家科委重点项目“螺旋藻工厂化中试”，1 992年承担国家火矩计划建成我国第一座利用地热控温，半封闭空循环式的螺旋藻工厂。发表专著3本，如《西藏高原藻类》等。其中《中国淡水藻类》为我国第一部淡水藻类分类学综合性参考书。《中国淡水藻类》和《蓝裸甲藻藻胆素的发现及其在系统演化上的意义》分别获中国科学院科技进步三等奖。《优良藻种的选育与培养条件研究》获中国科学院1992年科技进步二等奖。

| Hu Hongjun, born in June 6, 1934, is a Professor Researcher; Director of Wuhan Institute of Botany, Academia Sinica; Permanent Member, Chinese Society for Oceanology and Limnology; Vice chairman, Hubei Society of Returned Oversea Scholars. He finished his post-graduate courses of Institute of Hydrobiology. academia Sinica, in 1965. He finished 1980 - 1982 advanced studies on algal cytology at the University of California, BerKeley. U. S. A. He researched profoundly on algal taxonomy and algal cytobiology. He and his olleagues discovered three new Genera and twenty new species of freshwater algae in China. His representative work: “Fresh Water Algae in China” (Co-auther), “The Algae of the Xizang Plateau” (Co-auther). Among his more than thirty academic papers published in journals are: "A new Genus of Ulotrichales (Chlorophyta)–Didymonema”; “Radioramus–A new Genus of Coleochaetaceae (chlorophyceae)”; “Discovery of Phycobilin in Gymnodinium cyaneum Hu sp. nov. and its Phylogenetic Significance". They first demonstrated that phycobilin exists in the phytosynthetic pigments system of Gymnodinium cyaneum.
Since 1986, he has mainly researched the biotechnology of Spirulina. He and his colleagues have built a Spirulina semi-closed system plant.
He is a member of the National Organizing Committee of the IPC.
