ECOLOGICAL HABITS AND DISTRIBUTION OF COILIA ALONG THE CHINESE COAST AND ITS CHANGES OF OUTPUT

Abstract:

This paper reports four species of Coilia: Coilia ectenes Jordon et Seale, C. mystus (Linneaus), C. grayii Richardson and C. brachygnathus kreyenberg et Pappenbeim. Areas of their mojor distribution are found to be at estuaries along the Chinese coast from Liaoning to Guangxi. Their ecological habits and characteristics, and changes of output are also reported. Lastly, protective measures of fisher resources are suggested by the authors.
