THE EDIBLE HOLOTHURIANS OF SRI LANKA
Abstract:
Some dry specimens of edible holothurians brought by Mr, Li Yongning from SriLanka were sent to me for identification. They comprised the following six species. Stichopus chloronotus Brandt, Stichopus variegatus Semper, Actinopyga mauritiana (Q, & G.), Actinopyga lacanora Jaeger, Holothuria (Halodeima) atra Jaeger, Bohadschia marmorata Jaeger. Of these the last is the most valuable species for making the trepang in SriLanka.
