The article presents a series of operating procedure of oriented sample mounts for the analysis of clay minerals by X-ray diffraction. Operating in such a procedure, a piece of oriented clay film with a certain sample thickness is obtained which is helpful to the quantitative analysis of clay minerals by X, R. D..
