HOAPS(Hamburg Ocean Atmosphere Parameters and Fluxes from Satellite Data)海表面温度、潜热通量、感热通量、海表面空气比湿以及海表面风场5个参量的18 a(1988~2005年)逐月平均资料,利用经验正交函数和奇异值分解方法分析了异常潜热和感热通量场在西北太平洋的时空分布特征及造成这种分布的主要影响因素。

Study on the temporal and spatial variabilities of air-sea heat flux over the Northwestern Pacific
ZHAI Fang-guo
Abstract:
Based on the monthly data of the third version of HOAPS (hamburg ocean atmosphere parameters and fluxes from satellite data) from 1988 to 2005, the temporal and spatial variabilities of the anomalous latent and sensible heat fluxes and also the impact that anomalous sea surface temperature, anomalous specific humidity near sea surface and anomalous surface wind speed have on the anomalous heat fluxes are analyzed by the empirical orthogonal function (EOF) and singular value decomposition (SVD) methods. The result indicates that anomalous latent heat flux mainly varies as the first two EOF modes.EOF1 of the anomalous latent heat flux describes a synchronous variation of the whole study area with an annual period while EOF2 describes three extreme value areas centered along 10°N,25°N and 40°N respectively and has an interannual variability. The homogeneous correlation map of EOF2 shows that the tropical Pacific is the action center and thus EOF2 may be an ENSO related mode. The anomalous sensible heat flux mainly varies as the first mode which describes a quasi-annual variability with an interannual oscillation. The result of SVD indicates that the anomalous wind speed on sea surface is one of the important factors responsible for the temporal and spatial variabilities of anomalous heat fluxes.
