Abstract:
The study focused on understanding the temporal and spatial variation characteristics of zooplankton community structure and its relationship with environmental factors in waters adjacent to the Huanghua port.In 2014,four surveys were conducted;15 stations in February (winter),May (spring),August (summer),and 12 stations in November (autumn). The characteristics of the zooplankton community structure and its seasonal changes were analyzed using the dominant index (Y),species diversity, and cluster analysis. In contrast, the environmental factors were analyzed using redundancy analysis (RDA),which caused the changes in the zooplankton community structure. The results indicated a total of 10 categories and 64 identified species of zooplankton:8 categories and 41 species in spring,7 categories and 35 species in summer,8 categories and 23 species in autumn, and 5 categories and 12 species in winter.Additionally, the dominant groups among these species were Cnidaria and Copepoda.Meanwhile, the zooplankton community presented a seasonal succession phenomenon, including the only dominant species of Noctiluca in autumn, but several zooplankton species coexisting in the other three seasons. The species diversity indexes of zooplankton in four seasons indicated a trend of summer>spring>autumn>winter, slightly different from the number of dominant species in each season.Cluster analysis showed that the zooplankton community structure could be significantly divided into four groups, closely related to the seasonal division,at a 35% similarity level. The RDA analysis results showed that different species responded differently to environmental factors, including temperature, salinity, and nutrients, which were the primary factors causing the seasonal changes of the zooplankton community.Furthermore, the dissolved oxygen and phosphate in winter, nitrogen and phosphorus in spring, temperature, salinity, nitrogen, and phosphorus in summer and autumn also influenced the zooplankton community in certain seasons.
