Abstract:
Through microscopic observation and biological frozen section techniques, the morphological taxonomy of the Polysiphonia Complex collected from Qinhuangdao, Hebei, was studied. The samples were identified as two species of Polysiphonia, namely Polysiphonia senticulosa Harvey and Polysiphonia morrowii Harvey, and two species of Neosiphonia, namely Neosiphonia decumbens (Segi) Kim et Lee and Neosiphonia sphaerocarpa (Børgesen) Kim et Lee. Among them, P. morrowii,N. decumbens, and N. sphaerocarpa were first recorded on the west coast of the Bohai Sea. This paper describes the external morphology and internal structure characteristics of the samples and presents clear pictures describing the features. The research results supplement the data on algae resources in Bohai Bay and provide a taxonomic reference for the related research on the Polysiphonia Complex.
