2003年冬季帕里西维拉海盆区上层水体中尺度涡的温盐特征

摘要:
利用2003 年冬季“科学一号”考察船在帕里西维拉海盆获得的CTD 调查资料, 结合同一时间西北太平洋海区的卫星高度计观测结果, 分析讨论了该海区上层水体的温盐特征及其受中尺度涡活动的影响等。结果表明: 在调查期间, 研究区海域曾同时出现冷、暖涡活动过程, 其影响深度均大于200m; 冷涡活动区位于研究区内136°—138°E 之间的海域, 沿北东方向延伸; 冷涡水体的盐度在100m 以浅高于周围水体, 在150m 以深则低于周围水体; 暖涡活动区出现在138.5°—139°E 之间, 暖涡活动特征在50m 以浅水体中表现并不明显, 其水体盐度在100m 以深起初表现为低盐中心, 在150m 以深逐渐转化为高盐中心; 研究区200m 以浅水体可以大致分为三层, 80m 以浅为高温低盐的表层水, 80—140m 之间为受中尺度涡影响的温盐性质复杂的混合层水, 140—200m 之间为低温高盐的次表层水。

THERMOHALINE CHARACTERISTICS OF MESOSCALE EDDY IN UPPER WATER OF PARECE VELA BASIN IN WINTER 2003

Abstract:
Using CTD data acquired by R/V Kexue (Science) No.1 in a marine survey in winter 2003 in combination of the contemporary observation by satellite altimeter in NW Pacific, we studied the thermoaline distribution in the upper water of Parece Vela Basin and the impact of mesoscale eddy. Results show that during the investigation, cold and warm eddy activities appeared in the area simultaneously, and both eddies affected water as deep as 200m or greater. The cold eddy located between 136°and 138°E, outspreading along the northeast direction in higher salinity than that of the surrounding water in depth within 100m but relatively lower salinity in the area >150m. On the other hand, the warm eddy appeared between 138.5° and 139°E with no obvious features at the depth within 50m. Salinity of the warm eddy water below 100m seemed to be a low-salinity center that was gradually replaced by a high-salinity center at more than 150m in depth. In addition, the upper water of the study area could be divided into three layers: surface water (0—80m) in high temperature and low salinity, mixing layer (80—140m) with complex thermohaline characteristics, and subsurface water (140—200m) in low temperature and high salinity.
