Abstract:
Wang Yunhong, male; was born in August, I952. He graduated as a postgraduate from the Department of Hydraulic Engineering of Tianjin University, Tianjin, China; has a D. Eng. degree; was a postdoctor researcher of Ocean University of Qingdao, China is a Director, Chief engineer, Senior engineer of the Communication Department of Tianjin Water Conservancy Bureau, a part-time Professor, Supervisor of M. D. Students Supervisor of Doctoral Students of Tianjin University and also concurrently part-time Professor, Supervisor of Doctoral Students of Ocean University of Qingdao. He is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers, the Japan Society of Civil Engineers, council member of the China Senior Professors Association, Tianjin Water Conservancy Society, and Director or Deputy Director of 6 Committees such as the China. Hydroeletric Computer Application Committee, etc. During 1985-1986, he was engaged in research and development of hydraulic computer software in Japan and was appointed as a chief engineer.

He is chiefly engaged in research on hydraulics, river and coast dynamics, sediment motion and dynamics. He is chief in charge of the water resources comprehensive utilization, calculation hydraulics, environment hydraulics, research of physical and numerical simulation of lake, river and hydraulic structure, hydraulic system engineering planning, development and manufacture of software. He headed many national key projects of science and technology, the achievements of which won provincial and Ministry 2nd and 3rd Progressive Prizes of Science and Technology. Many of his achievements are published in the “Comprehensive Scientific and Technological Achievements of China", the “Dictionary of Practical Scientific and Technological Achievements of China", etc. He has published 2 representative monographs with original views. More than 50 treatises of his have been published, 10 among them won the First Grade Prize of Excellent Papers. He was awarded the honorable title of Advanced Scientific and Technological Worker of Tianjin Water Conservancy System. Because of his outstanding contributions to society and his great international prestige, the International Biographical Centre (IBC) has accepted Doctor Wang Yunhong as a member of the Order of International Fellowship.
