| A DISCUSSION ON THE CHANGE CYCLE OF THE ANNUAL CATCHES OF HAIBTAIL IN THE EAST CHINA SEA |

| Abstract: |
| Analysis of the data of annual catches (1958-1977) of hairtail in the East China Sea shows that a change cycle of 7-9 years predominates. The variation of the Kuroshio transport also has a period of 7-9 years as reported by Nitani (1972). Therefore, it is pointed out that there is a close relation between the variation of the annual catches of the hairtail in the East China Sea and that of the hydrographic condition, especially, the Kuroshio transport. |
