WAVE FORCES ON SUBMERGED PIPELINES NEAR THE SEA-BOTTOM

Abstract:

A brief description of existing theories of wave action on submerged pipelines near the sea-bottom is given in the paper. Comprehensive analyses are made after examining the; results obtained from a number of experiments in this connection. A method for estimating wave forces on pipelines is then proposed, and the results by this method are compared with that by Wright’s experiments through demonstrative examples.
