A PRELIMINARY REPORT ON THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE LARVA OF TACHYPLEUS TRIDENTATUS

Abstract:

The developmental stages of the zygote of Tachypleus tridentatus cultured in the bowl containing sea water were observed in the laboratory. When the sea water was at 25±5℃ and the specific gravity was 1.016-1.020, it took 6 months to grow from alevin to larva. The relation of phylogeneny between the protaspis of Tachypleus tridentatus and the trilobita was discussed according to their characters of morphology.
