THE NORTHERN DISTRIBUTION OF TACHYPLEUS TRIDENTATUS LEACH IN CHINA SEAS

Abstract:

Tachypleus tridentatus Leach are mostly found in the coastal waters of China Seas, and a few in the south Japan Sea. The northern distribution of the Tachypleus tridentatus Leach is restricted to Zhoushan archipelago coastal waters, 29°40’-30°17’N, 122°30’E, which has sandymud and sandy beaches, but never found in the rocky beaches north of the Zhoushan archipelago. The suitable surface temperature for Tachypleus tridentatus Leach is about 16°-27°C.
