| CALCULATING THE UPWELLING SPEED OFF ZHEJIANG WITH CONCENTRATION OF DISSOLVED OXYGEN |

| Abstract: |
| The equilibrium model of dissolved oxygen (V1/T1)C1=(V2/T2)C2+E+ρ-f in the photic zone (upper layer) of the upwelling is given out. Then the model is simplified, and the formulaof (average) speed V for the upwelling: V=r/(C1-C2) is taken out. The upwelling speed off Zhejiang is calculated with the concentration of dissolved oxygen from the nearahore upwelling off Zhejiang in July, 1980. The speed calculated is 2.3×10-3 cm/s, well in agreement with the speed calculated by hydrologic elements. |
