DETERMINATION OF CHLORINITY IN SEAWATER BY POTENTIOMETRIC TITRATION WITH SILVER SULFIDE ELECTRODE

Abstract:

In this paper, the chlorinity of seawater was determined by potentiometric titration with AgNO³ solution using a silver sulfide electrode as the indicator electrode and a LaF³ electrode or glass electrode as a reference, with a large potentiometric break occurring in the process. The relative standard deviation in determining chloride content was ±1%. Recovery of chloride was 99.3-102%.
