| Abstract: |
| The experiment of the culture of the Chinese prawn was carried out in 1986. The float-type cage in the size of 3×3×2.7 meters was used in the experiment. In the experiment 7000 young prawns of average length of 4.5cm were put into the cage. 45.2 kilogram adult prawns were abtained in 105 days, about 3476 kilograms per mu (0.1647 acre). It is the highest production in prawn culturing in cage. The average length of the adult prawn is 12.185 cm, the survival rate is 24.6%. The experiment was successful even though the prawns were raided twice by tyhoon during August and September of that year. |
