| Abstract: |
| The faunistic character of the fishery resources in the western Huanghai Sea is basically the same as that of the entire Huanghai Sea. Fish constitutes the major part of fishery resources, with a total of about 250 species. Crustaceans such as shrimps and crabs, molluscs such as cuttle fishes, clams, and snails, totalling some 200 species, also constitute an important part of the fishery resources. Besides the above mentioned, the jelly fish (Rhopilema esculenta) is another important commercial species. Among them only about 40 species have fishing value. Their importance as a fishing item differs, and some species have a remarkable fluctuation in their stock size. The annual yield of which are described in this paper. |
