THE USE OF SPIRULIAN PLATENSIS AS A FEED FOR PRAWN LARVE

Abstract:

This paper reports the successful rearing of prawn larvae (Zoea Ⅰperiod-Mysis Ⅱ period) on production scale using Spirulina platensis or Spirulina platensis plus soybean meal as feed. The individuals fed this way are 663-757 um longer than the contrasts reared with soybean meal only. The survival rate is raised to 48%-53% from 11% for the contrasts.
