Abstract:
Urechis unicinctus has a unique taxonomic status and a broad economic prospect. The mitochondrial COI gene sequences of U. unicinctus from three populations in Laizhou Bay of Shandong province were evaluated to analyze the genetic diversity of this species. A total of 70 pieces of fragments with a length of 1 309 bp were obtained in this analysis. There were 115 mutation sites in U. unicinctus, including 43 single mutation loci, 82 minimalism information loci, 77 double mutation minimalism information loci, and 5 triple mutation loci. The diversity index of the haplotypes was 0.977, and the nucleotide diversity index was 0.01048. The mean difference in the number of nucleotides was 13.725. These results indicate that U. unicinctus in Laizhou Bay has a high genetic diversity. The findings of this study provide basic information that could be useful for the conservation and development of U. unicinctus in Laizhou Bay of Shandong province.
