Abstract: |
Careful study of many stones collected by bottorntrawl in June, 1992 by the “RV Scinece I” of the Institute of Oceanology, Academia Sinica, during investigations in the (southern) Yellow Sea continental shelf showed they were composed of sandstone (sandy gravel) and probably resulted from eolion erosion in the glacial period. These stones were mostly longish and in cylindrical form, and showed many signs of abrasion by wind, for which reason they are called “ventifacts”. |
