| Abstract: |
| Methods ate described for large scale culture of flat-fish, Paralichthys olivaceus beyond metamorphosis; the works were carried out in 1983-1984. The aim of culture was for stocking Jiaozhou Bay near Qingdao. Concrete and glass-fibre tanks used for rearing ranged in capacity from 1.8 to 8 kl. Fish with gonads in an advanced stage of maturation were caught in April and May by trawling net and returned to laboratory. Eggs were obtained by hand-stripping. Feeding was established on rotifers (Bracnionus plicatilis), Artemia nauplii and chopped fishes. The yields of one-month-old and two-month-old seedling were 13000/kl and 4128/kl, survival rates 50.40% and 27.19% respectively. Some 24000 seed-lings, of them 9000 tagged, were released into Jiaozhou Bay. |
