蜈支洲岛珊瑚礁区大型底栖贝类生物群落结构及碳储量评估

摘要:
为探究蜈支洲岛珊瑚礁区大型底栖贝类群落特征及其碳储量,作者环岛均匀布设了13个调查断面,系统开展了底栖贝类资源调查。通过对调查数据分析,揭示了底栖贝类群落的种类组成、优势物种分布、多样性特征及其与底质类型的相关性,同时基于贝类样品含碳率的测定结果,评估了其碳储量功能。(1)调查共发现底栖贝类34种,其中腹足类22种、双壳类12种;优势物种10种,其中金口蝾螺(Turbo chrysostomus)和亚洲棘螺(Chicoreus asianus)为各站位主要优势种;各断面贝类平均丰度为0.36个/m2,平均生物量为15.69 g/m2。(2)各底栖贝类丰度与底质类型相关性分析表明,珊瑚礁贝类总丰度与珊瑚覆盖率呈负相关;黄口荔枝螺(Reishia luteostoma)和布目皱纹蛤(Periglypta lacerata)丰度与礁石底质占比呈显著正相关;金口蝾螺和阿文绶贝(Mauritia arabica asiatica)丰度与砂石底质占比呈显著正相关。(3)珊瑚覆盖度较低断面(1、9和11)的底栖贝类群落多样性、均匀度及丰富度等指数较高。(4)所获样品贝壳含碳率为12.1%~14.3%,软体组织含碳率为22.2%~44.4%;经测算,珊瑚礁区单位面积贝壳碳储量为1.47 g/m2,软体组织碳储量为0.18 g/m2,且不同断面贝类碳储量与丰度一致。研究结果可为珊瑚礁生态系统生物多样性保护及碳储量评估提供参考。

Assessment of macrobenthic mollusk community structure and carbon content in the coral reef area of Wuzhizhou Island

Abstract:
This study investigated the characteristics of macrobenthic mollusk communities and their carbon storage capacity in the coral reef ecosystem of Wuzhizhou Island by establishing 13 survey transects that were uniformly set up around the island and performing a systematic survey of the macrobenthic mollusk resources. Through comprehensive analysis of the survey data, this study elucidated the species composition, distribution of the dominant species, biodiversity patterns, and habitat correlations of the mollusk communities. In addition, their carbon sequestration function was evaluated based on the carbon content measurements of the collected samples. The results revealed that the macrobenthic mollusk communities consisted of 34 species of mollusks, including 22 gastropods and 12 bivalves. Ten dominant species were identified using the index of relative importance (IRI), with Turbo chrysostomus and Chicoreus asianus being the primary dominants across all stations. The average mollusk abundance and biomass were 0.36 ind./m2 and 15.69 g/m2, respectively. Correlation analyses revealed a negative relationship between the total mollusk abundance and coral cover. Reishia luteostoma and Periglypta lacerata exhibited strong positive associations with rocky substrates, while T. chrysostomus and Mauritia arabica asiatica were positively correlated with sandy substrates. The biodiversity indices, including diversity index (H'), evenness index (J'), and richness (d), were relatively higher at transects with lower coral coverage (transects 1, 9, and 11). The carbon content rates of the mollusk shells ranged from 12.1% to 14.3%, while those of the soft tissues ranged between 22.2% and 44.4%. Moreover, the carbon storage per unit area in the shell component of the Wuzhizhou Island coral reef area was 1.47 g/m2, and that of the soft tissues was 0.18 g/m2. Furthermore, the spatial variations in carbon storage density were consistent with the mollusk abundance patterns across the different transects. These findings provide a reference for biodiversity conservation and carbon storage assessment in coral reef ecosystems.
